The Hotel was born two hundred years ago in the Casentino valley, and its name recalls an episode in history that was chronicled in the verses of Dante's Divine Comedy in which he describes the epic battle between Guelphs and Ghibellines that happened just in this  valley during a torrid summer of seven centuries ago.
